LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

LG counter-depth refrigerators are slim and provide plenty of space. These counter-depth refrigerators are also more affordable than standard-depth French-door refrigerators, and can remove the requirement for an under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView counter-depth refrigerator (LMWC23626S) isn't an exception and offers the capacity of a standard fridge in an elegant, modern design, with an integrated dispenser for easy access to water that is filtered.

This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins are spacious of space and the top shelf can fold down to create a half-depth shelf that can hold taller items. A set of crisper drawers is at the lower part of the refrigerator and the deli drawer with a full width can be used for meat or produce.

A recessed ice maker is on the back wall of the refrigerator, which reduces space and makes it easier to store an additional bag of ice. The refrigerator uses a door cooling system that makes use of vents on the freezer and fridge door to push cold air in. It helps prevent hot spots and maintains an even temperature throughout the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator was a standout in our tests and offers plenty of capacity to ensure that your family is well-fed, but it does have a few quirks that we found irritating. First, the freezer drawers don't remain as cold as we'd like. The middle drawer was 41 degrees during our highest testing which is warm enough for ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of the freezer remained at around 36 degrees.

Another issue is that refrigerator doors have handles that are sunken both on the inside and under making it difficult for shorter people to comfortably close them. This may seem insignificant, but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, which make them more convenient to open and close.

This fridge is expensive, but worth it for anyone who wants a sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this refrigerator for those who want to upgrade their refrigerator or for those who are building a new home and want a more integrated style for their kitchen.

Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The RF23M8090SG is Samsung's most recent and most stylish counter-depth French door fridge, priced at $4,200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling tests, though we're not too fond of its plastic handles and the bins with a crisper design feel a little flimsy.

One thing that makes the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line which lets you personalize your fridge using removable color panels that can be swapped out when you're bored of the ones you have currently. There are 11 colors to choose from, ranging from pastels to more vibrant hues. There are also four metallic finishes. These panels can be personalized to include text or photos. This gives the fridge a more personal touch and can be matched to your Rick Owens dress, Andy Warhol banana neon or tie-dye Crocs.

The LED lighting can be switched to a different color which is a nice option. The interior of the refrigerator features an intelligent finish that reduces the chance of smudges, and also makes cleaning simpler. The only real drawbacks of the RF23M8090SG are its cramped beverage center, as well as it takes some effort to access the door-indoor feature that houses a water dispenser and the pitcher. It is important to locate the lever on the underside of the door about halfway down. Once you find it, the second door opens within the fridge, containing the docking station for the pitcher as well as the water dispenser.

The 6.8 cubic feet freezer compartment is big enough to store plenty of frozen food. It also has an open drawer that lets you access the food you need without having to open the entire compartment. The freezer also comes with an ice-cream bin style compartment to store small items and a large capacity storage drawer that can store bulkier frozen foods. This drawer is lockable by using a password to ensure that unwanted guests are kept out. It also comes with a handy LED to help you see what's in it at an instant. The freezer is also able to monitor energy usage and help you cut down on your power bill with the SmartThings with smart-enabled Energy mode.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

French door refrigerators are an excellent addition to any kitchen. They are sleek and work well in all sizes of rooms. Counter-depth refrigerators are a great option if you're looking for this design, but without the height. This Frigidaire model which we've thoroughly tested and has received an above average rating in our evaluations due to its low cost and thoughtful features like an adjustable temperature drawer.

However, it also has a few nagging problems. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite some in the freezer, and it could get uncomfortable warm in the fridge's interior shelves.  Frydge  show how temperature fluctuates minute-by-minute. The orange region in the top right, representing the butter bin, is especially warm throughout our time of testing. This might not appear to be a problem at first however, the fridge spends most of the time above 32 degrees.

It's also worth mentioning that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model. This could be a factor for some buyers. The main issue is that this refrigerator isn't very good. It's not equipped with the latest features and durable construction, making it difficult to recommend it over more expensive options at this price point.

In many ways, the Frigidaire feels like the stainless-steel model of fridge you might see on display at your local appliance store. It's a good choice, with a brushed finish that looks good and is resistant to smudges, but it doesn't stand out or distinguish itself from competitors with more features and cost less.

If you're looking for a counter-depth french-door refrigerator but don't want to spend much then the FGHC2331PF might be worth considering. It has enough storage to meet the requirements of most families and does a good job at keeping food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it doesn't come close to costing the same amount as our top-rated models do.
